4 Day Gorillas and Golden monkeys in Rwanda

4 Day Gorillas and Golden monkeys in Rwanda takes you to Volcanoes national park found at the base of the Virunga mountain ranges. It is a habitat for numerous primates but most famously for mountain Gorillas and Golden monkeys. This tour offers an opportunity for Gorilla and Golden monkey tracking in the park. The tour also includes a city tour of Kigali and optional tours to Iby’Iwachu cultural village or Ellen DeGeneres Gorilla conservation campus all in 4 days.

 

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and airport pick up

Today you will arrive at Kigali International Airport. All arrivals into Rwanda are required to be fully vaccinated for Covid-19. After completing your emigrations formalities, you shall be received and transferred to your accommodation in Kigali city. You shall check in and rest for the night.

Day 2: City tour of Kigali, drive to Volcanoes National Park

In the morning you shall start your day with a city tour of Kigali the heart of Rwanda. This will be an account of history and how it has shaped the current day Rwanda. You will visit Gisozi Genocide memorial. You will also visit a local produce and crafts market in Kigali. After lunch, you will you shall begin your journey to Volcanoes national park. Enjoy the spectacular views of hills and misty valleys on your way. Upon arrival, you will check into your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla tracking and other optional activities

Early in the morning you will be transferred to the park headquarters for clearance, briefing and allocation of a Gorilla family to track. After briefing, you will be led by experienced ranger guides on the hike to visit one of the 12 habituated mountain Gorilla families in the park. You will spend an hour in their presence when you can observe, photograph and film them. After tracking you shall return to your accommodation and relax for the rest of the evening. You may opt to visit Iby’iwachu cultural village or Ellen DeGeneres campus as optional activities.

Day 4: Golden monkey tracking, drive to Kigali and departure

Golden monkeys in Rwanda live in the bamboo vegetation towards the base of the volcanoes. Trekking golden monkeys and gorillas is a similar experience – in a small group of no more than eight people, and you can spend one hour with the monkeys once you find them. Afterwards you shall exit the forest and start your journey to Kigali. In the evening you shall be transferred to the airport to catch your flight to the next destination.
